PREFACE
In October of 2008 I began chronicling this
perilous misadventure in a blog at the Bamblebrush.com site, which took
a whole year to unfold and finally came to an end. I've received word
from people and other online sources that they would still like to read
this strange chronicle, so I resubmitted it in a journalized story
format -- including pictures! Then placed this in the Outer Edge of
Reality site. But now it's back in Bamblebrush, with a link from Outer
Edge to it. Two birds, one stone, you know.
Certain posts in the blog had been referring to
articles in “Strange Reports from Zones Unknown,” the other fascinating
blog I produced, which is on hiatus now but still visible in Outer Edge.
So, at the bottom of each particular entry where it’s required, I listed
which articles I am referring to in a link so you can click it and go
directly to that post for the particular “Zones Unknown” articles, many
of which are currently in the Archive section of the Outer Edge site.
Incidentally, most of the articles for the "Zones
Unknown" blog are not obsolete or outdated yet, although a few may be if
they pertain to "current affairs." Most act as if I wrote them this
morning! Okay, that's pushing it -- we'll settle for yesterday. Also,
there were numerous comments from readers in the blog version, but I
only kept in the text those I felt were most likely sent from those
ominous dark strangers.
To avoid confusion, the entry dates you will see
refer to the days I journalized the ongoing events,
not the dates of the events
themselves. For instance, I may be writing about a particular event that
took place the day before or even a few days prior. That will also
explain why certain things I wrote will be in the present tense, and
others will be in the past tense if it happened a day or so ago. So that
should clarify matters.
My fellow writer, L. J. Stroud, suggested I use the
tagline, “The demented diary of a dingaling in the desert.” But I think
he was only joking. So the one you see will suffice.
Also I have continued to chronicle Area 57 episodes
in Book II, here at Bamblebrush, considering high strangeness and eerie
occurrences began to transpire here in the high desert soon after the
first adventure took place, which means you’ll definitely have new
material to read! Because weird paranormal phenomena began to rear their
ugly heads! So the intriguing adventure continues!
But in the meantime, I hope you enjoy this
fascinating tale of my close encounters of the most sinister kind!
